Chatfield comes from a background of boxing and sports/ classical fencing, first studying the art of the sword under Master Jeff Elmes in 1987.

Chris began his study of Saviolo in 1999 and in 2002 co-founded the 1595 Club with the aim of forming a group concentrating upon the examination and practice of Saviolo’s principles of combat and using them as a basis for a system of Fence.

Since that time Chris has been invited to teach, demonstrate and fence throughout the UK & Europe.
